Why do I hear whirring noise when I'm about to shift to 2nd gear and the clutch is pressed in?

I have a 2008 Civic with a manual (the 5-speed...can't afford the SI). Sometimes I hear this whirring noise after I've been in 1st gear and the clutch has been pressed all the way in. The noise stops the moment I shift into neutral or the 2nd gear. It's not that loud and I'm not getting any problems with the otherwise, but it is especially noticeable when the weather and/or car is cold. I don't think it's the throwout bearing because I don't hear the noise when the clutch is depressed in any other situation (neutral, 2nd to 3rd gear, 3rd to 4th, etc.). Basically, it only happens when in 1st gear and the is still spinning freely due to the momentum carried over from previously. Should I be worried or is this normal? Thanks in advance!

Got a new motor for my 05 crf 450r and wont start?

its a honda crf 450 with a 12.5:/1 piston, and new stage 2 cam. bike shop put the motor together and i bring it home to put into the bike and it will not start. i put all my weight into the kick starter and it barely kicks over. is there a possibity that the valves were set wrong or need to be set right. the bike will barely kick over and i even had my 300 lbs neighbor try kickin it and still same results. is there something i can do before i take it back to the shop so i might be able to ride tomorrow or do i just wait and ride it after it gets fixed.

Is it legal to video tape a police officer as he/she deals with my friend or strangers?

O.k, usually at cinco de mayo i see some pretty aggressive behavior from cops to pedestrians. a couple of years ago i saw a mexican guy get trampled by a police man on horse downtown. the ambulance came and everything, but it was never on the news. my best friend constantly gets racially harrased by the police, and i say racially beaocuse they usually end up saying things like "now get your black *** out of here", "i'll never belive a word that comes out of you ****** mouth" and a sargent at one point pointed at his stripes and said "you see these here? that means that i can do what i want" while doing an un warented search. A couple of times my friend has called me down to be a witness doing these unsolicited searches, and i think it's about time this was on tape. are there any laws against videotaping a police stop/search? i know they carry cameras in their cars for their protection, am i allowed to carry one for mine? thanks, i also want to video tape strangers getting harrased.

Motherboard Overheating?

I have an ASUS M3N72-D motherboard with an Athlon II X2, 2GB of HyperX DDR2 1066, and a GeForce 210. It is pretty new, as I bought it about three months ago. I have never overclocked or fiddled with the BIOS, but recently I downloaded some temperature reading programs to moniter my hardware. The first time I checked my motherboard temperature, it was 65C. Now it hovers near 78C. I have never heard of a motherboard reaching this temperature before. Should I be worried and if so, should I RMA it?

38 wks...contractions....Should I stay or should I go? 10 PTS wanna lot of answers?

From 7:30 PM to 9:15 PM I was having contractions every 3-4 minutes and they were getting worse each time... I called the doctor and she said since I was just checked at the docs the day before and I was only 50% effaced and 1cm dialted to wait about another hour and see if they continued to stay regular and get more intense... so I waited an hour and only had 4 contractions and decided not to head in... but another hour has ped now and I have had 5 contractions and there not regular or intense now. so basically Im really confused as to weather i should just drop everything and go in and get checked or just wait and go to bed and see if they get worse and more persistent through the night? Oh and I dont know if this matters or not but when I stand up they happen more and the pressure is very heavy when i stand. IDK ..... so basically to sum it up they were regular and intense 3-4 min apart for an hour and a half and then within the past two hours ive had 9 which were all very irregular and not intense...whadda ya think? My feelings are that I should just head to bed and get some rest and if they wake me and get regular then I go in to the hospital. but my mother in law said i should just go in and get checked. But id hate to make a trip for false labor if it is that and I would hate to waste there time as well please give me your thoughts

That's a tough question. Our country is in a bit of a mess right now. We have a war to deal with, an economic crisis to pull through and the past 8 years have put a serious strain on our foreign relations. Also, people are not particularly patient. The problems we as a country face took years to make, yet people expect them to be fixed in months. This is just not possible. I think there are a lot of unfair expectations being placed on Barack Obama right now. This may have been the case regardless of who was elected. I feel as though his main issue will be proving that although he is young and not as experienced as some past presidents he can handle the issues that arise with grace and competency. His biggest issue will be gaining the confidence and support of people who questioned him during his campaign and are expecting him to (and possibly rooting for him to) fail in his first term as president. If he can prove that he is capable to enough of the skeptics around the country and world than he will be successful.

I don't like it personally, as I believe the Islamic way is to treat the dead body with utmost gentleness and respect, and hacking it open to take out organs doesn't fit with that, for me. On the other hand, there is the possibility of saving a life with one of those organs, so it is something that needs to be thought about. Perhaps if a person decides that they want to donate organs, maybe in that case it could be acceptable, but no way should organs be taken without the donor (not the family and not the doctors) having decided that's what they want to do beforehand. I think it's wrong to make people donate unless they specifically opt out, because lots of people will not have the time/inclination/ability to sign the opt out.

You can always put it in a short pony tail. Another thing you could do is put it in mini buns. Take a section of hair in the front and twist it into a small twist bun on top of your head. Stick a y pin through it to hold it. Do the same on the other side. You could also do mini braids or make 2 mini braids in the front and pull them around to the back of head. Then gather some other hair in the back or on the side and put the mini braids and other hair in a half ponytail. You could use a curling iorn or curlers to curl it or make it wavy. I am an African, have grown up in Africa as well but even I know, I couldn't manage to live in a Masain village, it is truly rural and I mean extremely rural, with no electricity, running water, toilets outdoors, if you are lucky, they will have latrines and if you have never used a latrine, I don't know what to say because my parents grew up in the rural areas and now, they don't like using latrines, when we go to the rural areas, I always pray I can hold ... till i go home, the stench is unbearable, and then the food... I highly recommend you book into a nearby hotel and motel and maybe spend the day in these masai villages, I don't think you can manage to live in one, I know I can't and Im african, I have definitely seen a lot more rural life than you have. The bracelets, bean bags, socccer , dolls sound like good ideas, and food wise your ideas are good as well, don't forget bottled water, crisps, generally take lots of food because I dont think the kids will like the food in the village

Poking around the edges of NDL with only 50 dives is not what I'd call a good idea. Especially for someone concerned about air consumption since there's a possibility that they'll pop over the edge and require an unplanned deco stop(s). Now where is that gas gonna come from? Just had my cat spayed?

I took my cat in to get her spayed this morning and when I picked her up this afternoon, she was exhausted and dizzy although the vet said this was normal after the anaesthetic. I nipped out to work and left her with my partner (who spent the whole evening in bed with the flu) and now I'm home, I've noticed that her right is squinting a lot. I've tried to get a look but after her op, she's not in the most sociable of moods as you can imagine. But she seems to be struggling to open it/in pain when it's open and I'm a bit worried she's caught an infection. I can't get close enough but it looks quite dark and 'cloudy' for lack of a better word? I've tried to clean it with warm salt water but she was getting rather distressed. I will probably get in touch with the vet in the morning but am seeking some advice in the meantime. Could this be the anaesthetic? Or might she have bumped into something due to the dizziness from the op?

UK Employment Law - please see below?

A friend of mine has told me he is being bullied at work. The threats are not physical but his Supervisor calls him "Oi Mush", rather than by his name. The Supervisor is always going on at him, criticising what he does, shouting at him, and generally distracts him. My friend is so shaken by the verbal onslaught that he keeps making mistakes, which gives the Supervisor more ammo. He can't go to the MD or any other director because their attitude is, as long as the work gets done, who cares? My friend has only been employed for 4 months and after a year unemployed is scared stiff of being sacked due to the mistakes he keeps making and after such a short time he has no employment rights. I have also been told that there is too much work for the amount of staff as one of their branches have been closed and the work moved to my friends office. The staff have been told (not in so many words) to forget their lives - they work until they drop or they will be replaced (unpaid overtime too). They don't belong to a union. Is there an Establishment or Government Office that protects workers rights?

We have been in Colorado since the beginning of December but are heading back to Manhattan tonight because Jane's school resumes on Monday. We often take our vacations elsewhere and stay weeks at a time, or if my husband's work takes him to the other side of the country, we may go for a week or two, as well. Each home has a bedroom for Jane and all of her things we have multiples of so she can feel at home wherever we are; even her bedrooms are all identical. Hey I've been accepted for the NROTC scholarship but I want some enlisted experience also...so im trying to decide whether to go reserves and use a seperate scholarship for college along with the G.I. bill or the NROTC way.. Politics of Racial Extortion...will it last forever?

The very last conversation I had with my father this year we spoke about politics and he told me he "like Barack". I found this so disconcerting for two reasons. So my husband and I will be married for two years come September 8th. We haven't really gotten a vacation we went to virginia for three days for our honeymoon and we have a infant that we haven't been away from and just can't do anything with each other anymore. I have PPD and a serious case of anxiety so it's hard for me to walk out of the house to even get the mail(mailbox in front yard) if our daughter is sleeping and i'm the only one home. I've had depression as far back as I can remember so it's nothing to new but when I had our daughter it just made everything worse. I want my husband and I to go to the beach we used to go every year in the winter before we got married and had a baby it's sp peaceful and romantic because for the most part it's just us there no crowds. Well one money is lately always an issue we have it so it couldn't hurt t go somewhere for a couple days but at the same time(anxiety) I don't want to spend it because I feel like we can send that money towards something else or IDK how my brain works sometimes so I think multiple things at the same time and can never cipher them to know how I really feel. because of PPD Mine and my husbands relationship has been beat in so much, but we don't let it (as far as we can help it) hurt in the long run because we know that arguing doesn't mean we love each other less it's just a release of emotions and we try and work on it. So my main question is what do we do i want to go away for a couple of days were it's cheap but worth it I'm not sure I can enjoy myself and I'm not sure if he wants to go and if he doens't what else can we do besides going out to dinner we can do that anytime we want when it doesn't mean anything besides time together, but this would be special so I want to do soemthing different. mane n tail original shampoo tends to make my hair feel thicker and the conditioner makes it more poofy. for the spike things, i'd suggest a putty or wax and not a glue because glue will make it stiff and piecey. with the putty, put it in your hair and blow dry it upside down and then you'd probably need some extra hold hairspray to keep it sticking out like that. but i'm NOT an expert, i've just tried a ton of hairstyles.

Army Family Care Plan Discharge Question?

Hi, my wife and I are dual service, and one of us is going to get discharged because we can't come up with a family care plan for our daughter that is going to be born. I'm an orphan and she doesn't have family that can take care of her. I received a Company grade Article 15 about 6 or 7 months ago, and I have read that you can get a general discharge instead of an honorable discharge if you've been UCMJ'd.
