Life After Death - Is It All In Our Head?

In my opinion, it's not that they were faking it, it's just that they were mistaken. It's possible to be medically dead and then return to life, but that doesn't mean your consciousness leaves your body. It just means that your body stops for a moment, and then starts working again. In all likelihood, there is no life after death.
