Why is our ateil mean?

the best thing to do is just hold him,if he bites you don't show that your scared or hurt.i had one that was the same way.when i got the bird she was 2 1/2 years old and mean.i made up my mind to make her trust me.and that's how i did it.and now she will sit with me all the time.own her own. it may take a little while to break her but it's worth it.
